[Interview] Kim So Eun to Ask Park Shin Hye for Help with ‘Music and Lyrics’


Actress Kim So Eun, who will be appearing on MBC Music’s reality program Music and Lyrics with 2PM’s Junho, said that she would be getting advice from Park Shin Hye, who appeared in the show before her.

Kim So Eun recently met with the press alongside Junho to talk about her appearance in the show.

She said, “I saw that Park Shin Hye looked really pretty in the show, so I thought I wouldn’t have to worry too much. I did think that because writing lyrics isn’t easy, I would have to study a lot.”




“Park Shin Hye went to college with me [at Chung-Ang University],” she added. “I’ll have to call her to ask her about appearing in a reality show. I only have actors around me, and no singers when I need advice from singers, so I’m a bit worried.”

Music and Lyrics is a show which brings in a male composer and a female lyricist to produce a song together. Yoon Gun and Park Shin Hye appeared in the first few episodes to produce a romantic love song, and will be followed by Kim So Eun and Junho.

Kim So Eun said about Junho, “I like everyone in 2PM. My little sister is a fan. I thought of B2ST’s Yong Jun Hyung or Big Bang’s G-Dragon because there aren’t many idol group members who compose.”

She said her favorite genres of music were “quiet ballads or indie band styled songs,” and said that she likes musicians such as Ra.D or Jung Yeop.

“I write in my diary regularly, but I don’t know if that will be able to become lyrics. I wonder what it would be like once they become a song,” she said.

The Junho and Kim So Eun duet episodes will start airing as soon as the Yoon Gun and Park Shin Hye episodes wrap up.

Music and Lyrics was first produced exclusively for MBC Music, but reactions were so favorable that it started airing in the main MBC channel from March 18 and recorded 5 percent viewership ratings, fairly moderate numbers for a late night broadcast. The program was the first to make it into a main channel after starting up on cable.

Park Shin Hye will be walking the runway of the biggest fashion show in Asia as the star that represents Korea.

Park Shin Hye was invited to attend the 2012 Tokyo Girls Collection (TGC) as the Korean representative on March 24 in Shanghai, China.

This is the second invitation she’s received from the event, as she was also invited to attend the TGC in Beijing in 2011, making her ‘the TGC girl’ two years in a row.



TGC is a large-scale special event that brings together music and fashion in a festival for all of Asia. It was originally held in Tokyo, Japan, but in 2011 it was held in Beijing, aiming for the exchange of cultures between Korea, China and Japan, and for the founding of a fashion culture that has its roots in Asia.

At the time, Park Shin Hye closed the event in the finale, and this year again, she will be leaving for Shanghai to represent Korea. Other stars that represent Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China will be also be walking the runway alongside Park Shin Hye.

An official from TGC said, “Park Shin Hye is an attractive actress that is beautiful, is talented and has a sense of fashion, and is being loved across Asia in China, Taiwan and Singapore. She’s the actress that fits TGC’s concept for the exchange of Asian fashion culture the best.”

In the meantime, Park Shin Hye’s first reality show appearance, MBC Music’s Music and Lyrics, aired on the main MBC channel on March 18 and topped the viewership rating charts for that time slot. Park Shin Hye herself made issues for revealing her natural self for the first time, and for showing off her talent in writing lyrics and singing.

Park Shin Hye makes a grand finale of TGC Girls Collection

Actress Park Shin Hye made a grand finale of a fashion show in China.

On March 26, 4HIM Entertainment, Park’s agency, reported, “Park Shin Hye made a grand finale of the 2012 TGC Girls Collection in Shanghai on March 24 as a representative of Korea, China, and Japan.”

TGC Girls Collection is a grand-scale event in Asia that combines music and fashion. With the goal of promoting cultural exchange among Korea, China, and Japan, and creating fashion culture in Asia, the collection was held for the second time this year in Shanghai after the first one in Beijing.

According to Park’s agency, this is Park’s second time to make a grand finale of this collection. Besides Park, there were also other celebrities who represented Korea, China, Japan, and Taiwan, such as Sasaki Nojomi and w-inds from Japan, Xianchi from Hong Kong, and Kunling from Taiwan.

Park received many people’s attention at the fashion show with her confident walk. 4HIM Entertainment says, “It was her first visit to Shanghai. Thanks to the fans’ hearty cheers, Park Shin Hye could pleasantly finish the event. It was a great show that presented Park Shin Hye’s charms, and we’re very happy that she could make a grand finale of the show as a representative model of Korea.
