Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye Successfully Complete “Heartstrings” Fan Meeting in Japan hazelnutthursdays via @soompi

“Heartstrings” stars Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye are breaking more ground as new Hallyu celebrities in Japan. The two actors top-billed the “Heartstrings” fan meeting held on July 16 at the Tokyo International Forum Hall.

The “Heartstrings” fan meeting took place in two sessions, one at 2:00 p.m. and another at 6:00 p.m. It was the first time for the drama to hold a meeting between its stars and fans.

The events kicked off with Park Shin Hye’s music performance. In the drama, the actress played Lee Kyu Won, a gayageum student who is also a part of The Windflowers, a traditional music group. Members of The Windflowers were also present at the fan meeting. Park Shin Hye performed “Ready to Fight” from the “Heartstrings” OST and showcased a total of three songs.

Jung Yong Hwa pitched in with “Because I Miss You,” his solo song from the soundtrack, encouraging an even warmer reception from the audience.

The fans present joined in singing for the finale, a rendition of the “Heartstrings” theme song, “You’ve Fallen for Me.”

The day reportedly brought in an approximate 10,000 attendees. The Japan fan meeting organizers have decided to donate a portion of the proceeds from the event to local nonprofit organizations.

“Heartstrings,” which aired in Korea in mid-2011 premiered on Japan’s FujiTV on July 9.

Shin Hye appeared in a black short one-piece playing the gayageum with “Wind flowers”. They played “Arirang” and “Are you ready to fight?”. After that, Shin Hye sang “Give Me a Smile”. Yong Hwa came out with the electric guitar and played “Father and Me” and then he changed to the acoustic guitar and sang “Because I miss you”. He wore black jeans, white T-shirt and light blue jacket.
The curtains came down, and the male MC appeared. MC called Yong Hwa and Shin Hye. Shin Hye changed her clothe to a black dress.
<Question Time>
They were to pick up some questions.
Yong Hwa ①Frankly speaking, is there any parts that you would take different actions (behave differently) from your role?
YH said that he would be nicer and friendlier to the professor (Kim Suk Hyun). He said “it’s because I get along with anyone and am gentle”. Then Shin Hye said “What? He is gentle… but…(in Japanese)” YH “What? (in Korean)” SH “….gentle” . Their conversation was very funny.
Shin Hye②What are the secrets of each other?
SH “It’s very difficult (in Japanese)” YH “You have no interest in me don’t you? lol ” SH “Because he’s too perfect”. (a cheer from the audience) YH “Since we’ve worked from YAB, and know each other well, there is no secret”. But when he was asked SH’s secret, he said “Ah!” and “she dances better that K-pop groups!” Everyone expected that SH would dance, but… SH said “YH dances well too! He danced “Genie” in YAB”. Then the whole audience now expected YH to dance! YH said “you can watch it on Youtube after you go home.” But SH didn’t forgive him. Lol SH said “ he’s good at lifting his leg in Genie” . He finally showed us that! That was funny.

YHFavorite lines? YH “you’ve fallen for me” in 10th episode. He was forced to replay this line to the camera (as if the camera was Gyu Won’s face) by MC. After he did it to the camera, he said “I’ve been so embarrassed today! (in Japanese)”

SH When and in what parts do you think Gyu Won is an attractive woman?
When SH was considering, MC asked YH how he thought. Then YH said “ Gyu Won was always attractive. Her personality is very positive, and that is my type”. SH said “I also think that her positive personality is attractive. And she was also attractive in the scene when Gyu Won couldn’t understand Shin’s mind and got confused, she brought a cup of coffee to Shin and tried to make sure his mind”.

YH What is the scene which you think of yourself (the role itself) cool?
YH didn’t know what to answer and asked SH how she thought. Then SH chose the kiss scene between Shin and the professor Jung Yoon Soo. YH chose the scene in which Shin pretended as if it didn’t hurt after he got injured because of Gyu Won.

SH Now I can say I am sorry. Is there anything that you want to apologize to him?
SH “once I begin to laugh, I can’t stop laughing. And when I’m laughing I take a playful swipe at people around me. I often slapped at him so hard that my handprints were on him.lol” Then she said to YH bowing “I am sorry (in Japanese)”. She was so cute! But YH said “It’s because I made you laugh, so I am sorry”. Then both of them bowed and said “I’m sorry (in Japanese)”.

Video message from “The Stupid” YH said “I haven’t seen them after the drama ended. Especially the drummer guy. (←He said this twice. Lol) MC said “the drummer is the member of CNBLLUE Min Hyuk isn’t he?” Then YH said “he is now filming a drama, so I haven’t seen him for a while. Other members of CNBLUE are all busier than me”. Best scenes chosen by fans
In the next section, SH and YH were to guess the best 3 scenes voted by fans. But they already knew the answers from the matinee, so audiences were quizzed by the MC.
The best 3 are below;
1st The scene when Shin made a wish on the shooting star and told Gyu Won that he loves her.
2nd The scene Shin kissed Gyu Won on the stage of Catharsis.
3rd Shin gave Gyu won a back hug in the university.
They told interesting anecdotes about each scene. SH thought the scene when they hid from the rain would be 3rd.
When they were shooting 2nd scene, YH made many NGs. It was because his nee made noises (knack) when he bent down. SH said “they made noises every time!” YH bent down on the stage, and his nee made a big noise! (so amazing)
When they were shooting the MT confession scene, SH thought “please give me light too, lighting staff!” Her face was actually dark… YH made many NGs, because the line was very embarrassing.
Other popular scene was they ate noodle (ramen) together. MC asked them “are there any other ingredients you would recommend to put? Other than eggs and green onions?”
They were thinking so hard, and there was a silence for a while. Lol MC said “this question seemed to be so difficult. Lol” YH finally answered “if you put milk into ramen, your face won’t get swollen next day”. The answer was quite surprising. But SH also said that she had watched it on TV. YH spoke warmly that he does it and his face doesn’t get swollen. So it is proven by him. But after that, he said “I kept eating ramen, milk, ramen, milk, ramen, milk and got fat!” Lol!

Since Shin Hye and Yong Hwa already knew the best 3 scenes, the 4th was quizzed. 4th was <Shin said nervous Gyu Won “you’ve fallen for me”>　SH got right but YH got wrong, so YH had to give one thing from his personal belongings as a present. He chose his pin which he was wearing during the FM. He said it was his favorite.

The next question was best 14th scene the question was shown like this; ○○silently ○○and wiped ○○'s eyes. SH and YH thought that was their scene, but the answer was “Joon Hee silently put headphones on Hee Joo, and wiped her eyes”. Both SH and YH got surprised and stood up. SH shouted “Oh, I never expected that was Joo Hee’s scene” and said “great! (in Japanese)”

Since both got wrong, they had to offer 2 things from their personal belongings (including YH’s pin). Then YH’s manager came out from the backstage with YH’s jacket which YH wore in the drama. MC said the manager appeared with a sulky face, so audiences laughed. MC also pointed out that he was wearing different clothes from the matinee. Lol SH offered her necklace and bracelet she was wearing. She made YH take off her bracelet. But when she was taking her necklace off, it seemed to be difficult, and some audience shouted “Yong Hwa (take it off). But YH didn’t notice at all.

In this section, lucky 3 female winners and 3 male winners replayed with YH and SH. The scene female winners replayed with YH; the scene when Shin told Gyu Won that he liked her at MT. The scene male winners replayed with SH; The first day Shin and Gyu won went to school holding their hands.

Actress Park Shin Hye commented as her role as a ghost that she has "the charm of reversal" and showed off confidence.

On July 12th, Park Shin Hye attended the press conference held for 'Drama Special Season 3' to introduce the character she will be portraying in the production she has chose to participate in.
On the day she stated "Ever since I was little, I took up roles in drama city, best theatre and etc. It's just that as the programs like these got cancelled I didn't have the opportunity anymore to participate in these productions but I got a request for 'Don't Worry, I'm a Ghost.'"

"So after I got the script and reviewed it I thought, wow this is another production that I can show off my charm. Just because it's a short production I don't avoid it. If I am given the opportunity to show off my charm then I always take upon the request."

Also when Park Shin Hye was compared to actress Shin Min Ah due to Shin Min Ah who did a ghost role, she stated "If actress Shin Min Ah in 'My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho' was the ghost that everyone could see, I am a ghost that only one man can see and the story that happens between the two are very charming and unexpected."
